Wanhui Sports Carnival - A different kind of "adventure"

The cold wind rises and everything is hidden. The north wind blows into the city silently before the autumn is thick and now winter is setting in.

Before the official arrival of winter the children of Secondary School House got out of the classroom and thought outside the box for a unique sports carnival in the vibrant and attractive indoor and outdoor sports grounds.

One step at a time, it's all about growth

There always seems to be a surprise every day that we are with the children.

The opening ceremony was a spectacular class performance that wowed the audience. How many of you knew that the opening ceremony of the Sports Carnival was organised and planned by the children of Year 7 as well as Year 8 of the Junior School?

From sorting out the process, innovating sessions, conceptualising the programme, understanding the strengths of each student in the class, to daily rehearsals, learning movements, changing formations and making costumes and props for the performance.

Unlike at the beginning of the school year, after two months of learning and living together, the children are working well as a team and are bursting with ideas.

There is a 'hidden' code for the development of the whole child.

A journey that is rewarding

With events, there always seems to be an unexpected reward.

The sound of cheering and chanting is in full swing on the indoor basketball court, where sweat is pouring off the walls... ...

The garden tour is a surprise for the children prepared by their teachers. There are nine levels, and a mystery prize will be drawn upon completion of the card

During our interaction with the children we discovered a secret hidden inside the basketball court: the props in the bowling battle were painted by the children in art class using an empty discarded milk bottle, a paintbrush and some acrylic paints. The children's imagination and creativity were enhanced by the reuse of discarded items.

The secret of learning is "hidden" in this.

Every movement is an experience

In the sports carnival, it is the sport that is the star of the show.

It is a tug of war in which the children share one end of a rope.

It's a dodgeball battle that requires children to "fight" back-to-back.

It was the 4*100m relay race that required the children to run hard and fight for glory.

It's a lap to the end that involves children holding hands and twisting their bodies into different positions.

Due to the recurrence of the epidemic, what was originally set to be a parent-child sports day turned into a carnival for teachers and children

The event required the children to work together as a team and to explore the methods and skills used in the process of the competition. The innovative format and rich variety of projects made the carnival an outdoor classroom for children to explore and learn.
